WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word that means ‘Universal Life Energy’. It is the energy that sustains all life.
In 1922 a Japanese gentleman, Mikao Usui, developed a method of connecting to this energy, which promoted self healing by balancing the mind, body and spirit which is the essence of good health and well being.
By connecting to this beautiful healing energy, reiki practitioners can bring this energy to others, calming and healing many of today’s stresses, health problems and anxieties.
Reiki can make many positive changes for you, by promoting a fresh outlook on life and clarifying your priorities.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM A REIKI TREATMENT?
Reiki is for everyone, no matter what religion, age, gender or state of health.

REIKI TREATMENTS
IMPORTANT: It is advisable before any treatment to check the lineage of your Reiki practitioner, ask any questions you may have and make sure you feel comfortable with them.
Treatments can be given anytime, anywhere. The ideal treatment is given in warm comfortable surroundings with soothing background music.
Receiving a treatment from a Reiki practitioner is a beautiful experience. Reiki is given while the recipient is laying down (or sitting, if laying down proves to be uncomfortable)The practitioner will gently lay their hands on the body or leave them slightly above and no removal of clothing is necessary.
WHAT WILL I FEEL DURING A TREATMENT? You will almost certainly feel relaxed and at ease and it is not uncommon for recipients to fall asleep during the treatment. You may feel heat from the practitioner’s hands, cold, a tingling sensation, waves of energy or absolutely nothing. No matter what, be assured that the Reiki energy is working for your highest good. The treatment lasts for approximately one hour and during that time the practitioner will not communicate with you unless you feel a need to ask a question.
NB: Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment. If you have a physical, emotional or mental problem you should see your GP. A Reiki practitioner will not diagnose or recommend any form of treatment. Reiki is completely safe and WILL complement any medication or medical treatment.
